As a resident, you can be familiar with all the aspects of Syracuse. New York City can still be much more than your imagination. You can picture it as a city full of glamour and energy. Its landmarks can be the ultimate signs of the glorious past and present for you. However, anyone can notice these traits or details. If you want to make your journey to this city refreshing, you must ditch the usual sightseeing opportunities and visit lesser-known places. It can revive your love for this place or give you a new perspective on its personality. Are you wondering which mode of transportation to choose this time? Take the bus!

Syracuse to NYC bus routes is well-planned. Cars and trains take almost the same amount of time as intercity buses to reach this destination. But you cannot feel comfortable. With cars, you worry about parking, traffic, and safety. Taking the train usually means pushing through crowds before boarding. Both are relatively expensive transportation options. Bus tickets can be purchased at an affordable, standard price. Peak hours and holidays may cause slight changes, but they’re usually not a big deal. You can avoid them by booking your seats in advance. After the bus drops you off at your destination, you can head to your hotel and then begin your exploration. Here are some suggestions for lesser-known sites that are worth visiting.

    • Sunset Park

You can’t enjoy the beauty of the Manhattan skyline from Manhattan itself as much as you can from the highest point in South Brooklyn’s Park. During the daytime, you can get some of the best views of the city. You can even see New Jersey from here.

    • Fort Tyron Park

Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. developed this green space. He was the son of the landscape architect who helped build Central Park. However, Fort Tryon Park features a better outdoor experience than any other popular park in the city.

    • Flushing, Queens

Queens is famous for non-American food. You can head to any Asian restaurant in this borough for variety. You can visit Xi’an Famous Foods, Pho Hoang, and Zhu Ji Dumpling Stall for a fulfilling culinary experience.

    • Bushwick Street Art

Most visitors rush to Times Square for photos. However, you can find some of the best backgrounds in local thoroughfares such as East Moore Street, Siegel Street, and Morgan Avenue. The alleys and the warehouses in the Bushwick neighborhood can also be roamed about.

    • Snug Harbor

It once served as a retirement retreat for old sailors. Today, it is recognized as an arts center and botanical garden. You can see plenty of unique gardens here. An ideal example is the Chinese Scholar’s Garden, where you will find koi ponds and a bamboo forest. This area can be less crowded due to its location. You have to travel to Staten Island’s north shore to get here.

Many such great examples are there. Take a bus from Syracuse to delve into this side of New York City. It can be both exciting and memorable. Again, you can visit them on different trips. After all, bus tickets are affordable. Safety and comfort are additional reasons to make spontaneous travel plans.
